Sunshine Coast artist and tutor Don Milner<\/a><\/strong> travelled to Kingaroy at the weekend to lead a two-day workshop for a dozen local artists.<\/p>\n

The workshop, funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), was organised by local artist Cherry Carroll and held at the CWA Supper Room in Kingaroy Street.<\/p>\n

Cherry said Don had been “very brave” in offering to lead a workshop in all media and with no set subjects.<\/p>\n

The artists taking part were working in watercolours, acrylics, oils, charcoal and pastels on everything from landscapes to portraits.<\/p>\n

Don is a very experienced artist who has held multiple exhibitions over the past 20 years.<\/p>\n

He’s probably best known for his landscapes and seascapes, but he also does portraits that attempt the capture the essence of the people of the Australian outback.<\/p>\n

He works in multiple media:\u00a0acrylic, oils, charcoal, pastel and gouache.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe choice of medium doesn’t matter. Capturing the subject, and its true spirit and essence, is of paramount consideration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
