Fire completely destroyed a family home at Hoopers Road, Inverlaw, this morning.<\/p>\n

Fire brigades received the call at 11:35am and rushed to the scene, but found a wood and fibro house fully engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

Flames had also spread to an adjoining building, made of cement blocks.<\/p>\n

About one-third of this building has also been gutted, with severe smoke and heat damage throughout the rest of the structure.<\/p>\n

The corrugated iron roof collapsed on the first building and this building has been totally destroyed.<\/p>\n

Both urban and rural fire crews attended the blaze.<\/p>\n

Crews remained on scene for several hours dampening down the site.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Station Officer Bruce Groer said the fire is believed to have started at the rear of the first building but the cause is yet to be determined.<\/p>\n

A careful search of the property by firefighters confirmed no one was at home during the fire; relatives were attempting to contact the owners.<\/p>\n

The family’s pet dogs survived the blaze but two cats are missing.<\/p>\n
