A movie shot on location at Jimbour House west of Bell will premiere in cinemas across Australia on July 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough its spectacular drama and storytelling will have a global appeal, there\u2019s no doubt The Second is a Queensland film through and through,\u201d Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“It was written and produced by Brisbane\u2019s Stephen Lance and directed by Brisbane\u2019s Mairi Cameron.<\/p>\n

“The film was shot at the 177-year-old Jimbour House, and features music\u00a0written by Queensland composer Ryan Walsh\u00a0and\u00a0performed by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.”<\/p>\n

The Second was funded through Screen Queensland\u2019s ‘Queensland Originals: Fully Funded Features with Stan’\u00a0initiative, and had its Australian premiere at the Gold Coast Film Festival in April.<\/p>\n

It tells the story of an author struggling to produce a follow-up novel to her racy first best-seller.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to overcome writer\u2019s block, the author and her publisher boyfriend go for a long weekend at her family\u2019s country home.<\/p>\n

But the ghosts of her past rise to the surface.<\/p>\n

The Second stars Rachael Blake\u00a0(Lantana),\u00a0Susie Porter\u00a0(Two Hands),\u00a0Vince Colosimo\u00a0(Chopper),\u00a0Martin Sacks\u00a0(A Place To Call Home) and\u00a0Susan Prior\u00a0(Puberty Blues).<\/p>\n
