A 45-year-old Kingaroy woman allegedly attempted to blame car thieves after her vehicle was involved in a crash on Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said the woman contacted police at 11:10pm on Saturday to report her Isuzu utility stolen.<\/p>\n

She alleged her vehicle was stolen from the driveway of her Moore Street residence while she was at friend\u2019s place between 5:00pm and 11:00pm.<\/p>\n

“While at the woman\u2019s house police received information that a woman matching the victim\u2019s description had crashed a vehicle on Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road and had been given a lift by passers-by to Moore Street,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.<\/p>\n

Police will allege the woman admitted the vehicle had not been stolen and that she had been the driver when it had crashed.<\/p>\n

She allegedly returned a positive breath alcohol reading of 0.158 BAC.<\/p>\n

The woman was arrested and will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 18 charged with driving while under the influence of liquor.<\/p>\n

She was immediately disqualified from driving until the matter is finalised in court.<\/p>\n

A 44-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with drug driving after police pulled over a Holden on Alford Street last Monday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man allegedly returned a positive saliva sample and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 2.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kingaroy police have immobilised two vehicles in separate incidents are their drivers were allegedly found to be driving while their licences had been suspended due to unpaid SPER debts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 3:10pm on Thursday, police stopped a 36-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Nissan utility on Haly Street. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 and his vehicle was immobilised for seven days.<\/p>\n

At 4:00pm on Friday, police pulled over a 30-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Toyota sedan on Knight Street. He will also appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4. His vehicle was immobilised for 90 days.<\/p>\n

At 5:20pm on Friday, police stopped a Holden Commodore on Ivy Street. They will allege inquiries revealed the driver, a 44-year-old Cherbourg woman, was unlicensed. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court and her vehicle was immobilised for seven days.<\/p>\n

At 6:20pm on Sunday, police stopped a 21-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Nissan utility on Fisher Street. Police will allege his licence was expired. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 18. His vehicle was immobilised for 90 days.<\/p>\n

At 9:30pm police on Friday, police spotted a 36-year-old Kingaroy man asleep in the driver\u2019s seat of his vehicle on West Street.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man returned a negative breath sample but a search of his vehicle allegedly located a small quantity of amphetamine and cannabis.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with possessing dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Markwell and Glendon streets, Kingaroy, at 9:05pm on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Holden sedan being driven by a 34-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly failed to give way to Mazda sedan.<\/p>\n

A 44-year-old Booie man who was a passenger in the Mazda suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.<\/p>\n

Both vehicles were extensively damaged.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sunday, police attended the scene of a single-vehicle crash involving a Holden station wagon on Haly Street at 7:20am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The driver, a 24-year-old Kingaroy man, allegedly told police has driving friends home from from the pub when he swerved to avoid a pedestrian and lost control.<\/p>\n

He allegedly returned a positive result to a roadside breath test.<\/p>\n

The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 18 charged with drink driving (0.170 BAC). He was immediately disqualified from driving until the court matters are finalised.<\/p>\n

During the past week, Kingaroy police also attended four calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued 12 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 167 roadside breath tests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
