SunPork Fresh Foods has received a financial boost from the State Government to help the Kingaroy-based company expand its international sales.<\/p>\n

The company has will use the money – between $50,000 and $100,000 – to develop pork products at its Kingaroy and Murrarie plants for the high-end Asian market.<\/p>\n

Agriculture Minister Mark Furner said on Wednesday six Queensland food companies has received Round 1 funding from the Growing Queensland\u2019s Food Exports program.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom macadamias, mangoes and melons, to strawberries, sweet corn and pork \u2013 the producers selected for grants are either already exporting or are ready to export and seeking to access overseas markets,\u201d Mr Furner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy providing funding of up to $100,000, we\u2019re assisting these food companies to build their business capability to take advantage of opportunities to grow exports.<\/p>\n

Matched funding of up to $100,000 (minimum of $50,000) is available over two years per eligible project.<\/p>\n

Round 1 opened in September 2017 and closed a month later.<\/p>\n

Round 2 will open on July 1 this year.<\/p>\n
