Yarraman and Cooyar residents have been invited to provide input into the development of a key Toowoomba Regional Council environmental policy, the “Green Infrastructure Strategy”.<\/p>\n

Cr Anne Glasheen said “green infrastructure” referred to a network of naturally occurring or built assets with a living component that delivered important benefits to people and places in both urban and rural environments.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreen infrastructure delivers many benefits including contributing to health and wellbeing, driving social, economic and environmental sustainability, preserving landscape and cultural heritage and ensuring climate change resilience,\u201d Cr Glasheen said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Green Infrastructure Strategy will support the planning, development and integration of green infrastructure as an important environmental policy across the Toowoomba Region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe community can share ideas on green infrastructure by attending one of our community workshops in Millmerran, Clifton, Highfields and Toowoomba on Saturday (May 19).<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity members can also provide ideas on green infrastructure by completing a survey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Workshop registrations can be made through Council\u2019s Your Say website<\/a><\/strong> or by calling Council on (07)\u00a04688-8614. <\/p>\n

Registrations close on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The survey is available via the\u00a0Your Say website<\/a><\/strong> and in hard copy from Customer Service Centres until May 23. <\/p>\n

Hard copy survey forms must be received back at Council by May 23.<\/p>\n

Cr Glasheen said community feedback would be used to guide the development of the Green Infrastructure Strategy.<\/p>\n
