Be warned … pretending to be a statue won’t fool Kingaroy police!<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said at 11:30am on Sunday police attended a house in Murray Parade looking for a wanted person.<\/p>\n

“A 26-year-old Kingaroy man was seen by police standing in the bedroom holding a box and pretending to be a statue,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.<\/p>\n

The man allegedly continued to stand like this despite repeated requests from police to unlock the security door; he then ran from the house and was arrested.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 25 charged with obstructing police.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy police are investigating a break-and-enter which occurred at a house in Freeman Court on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Between 8:45am and 5:30pm, unknown offenders stole jewellery and money.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Tierney said initially it was believed entry was gained through a closed but insecure window, but from subsequent inquiries it appeared a rear door had been forced.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a Forest View Road, Brooklands, address.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Police inquiries revealed that a 37-year-old man living there was wanted after allegedly failing to appear at the Holland Park Magistrates Court on January 12. <\/p>\n

Police will allege they also located drug utensils and a small quantity of cannabis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The man was arrested and will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 2 charged with possessing a dangerous drug, possessing drug utensils, obstructing police and failing to appear in court.<\/p>\n

On Friday, police pulled over a Fiat sedan on Walter Road, Kingaroy, just after midnight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The driver, a 27-year-old Wynnum West man, allegedly returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.088.<\/p>\n

At 11.55pm, police stopped a Toyota on Haly Street. The driver, a 32-year-old Booie man, allegedly returned a BAC of 0.136.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, police intercepted a Toyota on King Street, Kingaroy, at 4:40am. The driver, a 36-year-old Inverlaw man, allegedly returned a BAC of 0.135.<\/p>\n

All three men are due to appear in \u00a0Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4.<\/p>\n

As a result of investigations into the theft of a cash tin from public facilities in Alford Street on March 1, a 13-year-old Wooroolin boy and a 13-year-old Wilkesdale boy have been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 13-year-old Wooroolin boy and a 14-year-old Wooroolin boy have also been dealt with under the Act after investigations into a theft from a Rackemanns Road residence.<\/p>\n

And a 15-year-old Kingaroy boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act after investigations into a complaint of wilful damage to a house in Albert Street, Kingaroy, on February 12.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, police intercepted a Toyota being driven by a 32-year-old Booie man on Youngman Street at 10:25pm.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with driving while unlicensed.<\/p>\n

A forfeiture order will also be sought for the vehicle involved as the man is allegedly a repeat offender.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Tierney said that during the past week,\u00a0Kingaroy police also attended five calls related to domestic violence, issued 31 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 487 roadside breath tests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
