Woolworths Kingaroy will start to put signs around its store to remind shoppers of the deadline<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Woolworths customers will soon begin to notice in-store reminders at the Kingaroy supermarket to bring their own reusable shopping bags.<\/p>\n

Single-use plastic bags will no longer be available at the store after June 20.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Woolworths we are committed to listening to our customers and also doing the right thing for the environment,” Queensland General Manager of Operations Matthew Franich said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“We are proud to be able to help create a greener future for Australia with our customers by removing single-use plastic bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appreciate that it will be a big change for our customers and we will do what we can to support them through the transition to make it as smooth and simple as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the lead up to June 20, there will be more signs in-store and at checkouts reminding customers of the change.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur local team members will chat with customers regularly to ensure they know about the upcoming change and the various options available,” Mr\u00a0Franich said.<\/p>\n
