St Mary’s Rock and Roll Trivia Night at the weekend was definitely musical but it was anything but a trivial pursuit.<\/p>\n

The annual event is organised by senior students at St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy to raise funds for the Year 12 Valedictory Dinner.<\/p>\n

Although the evening had a rock’n’roll theme – and most guests dressed accordingly – the questions were mostly general trivia.<\/p>\n

However, local band Skin n’ Bone, who provided live entertainment during the evening, had participants guessing with a “Rock That Riff” competition.<\/p>\n

St Mary’s P&F president Damien Martoo, from The Martoo Review, compered the evening.<\/p>\n

Dinner was free pizzas, donated by Domino’s Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Damien said the winning team on the evening was “The Beatles”, who won an all-expenses party hosted by the Martoo Review at Kingaroy’s Commercial Hotel with live music by Skin n’ Bone. The evening will also be sponsored by S & G Hair Design.<\/p>\n

To help raise even more funds on the night, there was a multi-draw raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses, and a major raffle.<\/p>\n

First Prize in the major raffle was a night’s accommodation for a family at Seaworld Nara Resort and a family pass to the Gold Coast theme parks, donated by Purser’s Coaches.<\/p>\n

Second prize was a fishing charter with South Burnett fishing guru – and southburnett.com.au<\/strong> columnist – Matthew Langford, plus an Esky donated by Mitre 10, and a bottle of rum courtesy of the Commercial Hotel.<\/p>\n

Third prize was a dinner for up to six people cooked by local independent Thermomix consultant Gayle Lamping.<\/p>\n
