South Burnett hairdressers, apprentices and trainees enjoyed a special treat on Monday night … a visit from an award-winning city hairdresser willing to share her tips and tricks.<\/p>\n

Crystal Ensabella\u00a0has been hairdressing for 15 years, and in that time has built a “colour\u00a0empire” in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.<\/p>\n

Crystal and her team at Fabrik Hair have been\u00a0winning and placing in De Lorenzo\u00a0Novacolor competitions over the past five years.<\/p>\n

She was brought to Kingaroy by TAFE Southwest to share her winning ways.<\/strong><\/p>\n

TAFE Southwest Educational Team Leader (Hair Team) Paula Hughes said this was the first time for a very, very long time that something like this had happened at TAFE’s Kingaroy campus.<\/p>\n

She said hairdressing courses had returned to Kingaroy about two years ago, after\u00a0Business Development Officer Rob Fitz-Herbert approached local industries to see what their needs were.<\/p>\n

They had started with a VETiS program (Vocational Education and Training in Schools) which offered a Certificate II in hairdressing.<\/p>\n

It had grown from there, and helped the students to create a “passion” for the industry.<\/p>\n

More than 50 people turned up at the college on Monday to learn from Crystal and watch a hands-on demonstration of colouring.<\/p>\n
