South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell and CEO Gary Wall … Mr Wall announced his plan to retire from the Council last December after a 47-year-career in local government<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council is expected to announce its new CEO within days.<\/p>\n

The new CEO will replace incumbent Gary Wall, who announced last December he intended to retire after a 47-year career in local government.<\/p>\n

Mr Wall will finish work on Thursday, July 5.<\/p>\n

The Council began seeking a new CEO earlier this year, using a specialist recruitment firm to head-hunt suitable candidates.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell said on Tuesday that councillors had now completed the final selection interviews, and the successful applicant would be announced once references have been checked.<\/p>\n

The Mayor said he expected the new CEO would work in tandem with Mr Wall for a brief period before the handover to ensure a smooth transition.<\/p>\n

One of the new CEO’s first tasks would be to begin implementing the Council’s 2017-18 Budget, which is expected to be handed down in late June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
