Champion Blackbutt axeman Mitch Argent has added another trophy to his already bulging cabinet … the 2018 Stihl Timbersports Australian Champions title.<\/p>\n

He was crowned in Sydney last Friday night after an on-stage competition during which he defeated four blocks of wood, using different disciplines, in just one minute, 14 seconds.<\/p>\n

Mitch admitted to southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the strenuous competition was “pretty hard to win”.<\/p>\n

First he had to cut through a block using a chainsaw (“Hot Saw”), then run to the next block (underhand chop), then the next (crosscut saw) and finally a standing block.<\/p>\n

He defeated former Timbersports world champion\u00a0Brad De Losa, from NSW,\u00a0in a thrilling final round of the knockout competition which was held at Sydney\u2019s Entertainment Quarter.<\/p>\n

Mitch – who has previously won four world woodchopping titles, five Australian titles and close to 40 Queensland titles – will now be heading off to Marseilles to compete in the Timbersports world championships on May 26.<\/p>\n

However, South Burnett residents won’t have to buy a plane ticket to see Mitch in action … he’ll also be taking part in various competitions at the Nanango Show on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n
