The South Burnett Regional Council has assured visitors they will continue to enjoy “wonderful experiences” at Bjelke-Petersen and Boondooma dams, despite the upcoming departure of the current managers.<\/p>\n

Corey Goldie and Niki Burchett announced their departure on social media recently:<\/p>\n

“We have news?\u00a0Home has been calling for a long time now so we have to say goodbye and thank you. Without our wonderful customers we would not have had as much fun. Thanks to all our staff over the journey. Please don’t ask us what is happening at the parks going forward because we don’t know. But all the best to you all and we hope one day we may catch you on the rd (sic) again.”<\/em><\/p>\n

A spokesperson said\u00a0Council understood Corey and Niki\u2019s desire to move closer to family.<\/p>\n

“(We) wish them well in their future endeavours and thank them for all their efforts at both facilities over the last five years,” a media statement said.<\/p>\n

“Council will work with the current management team and staff to ensure a smooth transition to minimise any impact on our patrons.<\/p>\n

“An interim manager will be appointed at Yallakool over the coming weeks with Lake Boondooma to continue business as usual.<\/p>\n

“South Burnett Regional Council is committed to ensuring both facilities remain as premier tourist destinations in our region.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
