Community groups are being urged to apply for grants of up to $35,000 from the latest round of the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund.<\/p>\n

Attorney-General Yvette D\u2019Ath said community groups can apply for funding between $500 and $35,000 in Round 97 of Queensland\u2019s largest one-off grants program.<\/p>\n

“Every year the Gambling Community Benefit Fund distributes about $54 million of gaming revenue to Queensland communities,” Mrs D\u2019Ath said.<\/p>\n

“This funding allows our vital community groups to purchase much-needed equipment and upgrade their facilities.”<\/p>\n

In the most recently announced round, the State Government approved $13.69 million to 659 community groups, including $593,375 to 20 community groups in the Nanango electorate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“That\u2019s cash for a diverse range of community groups across Queensland for projects such as facility upgrades, shade materials, air conditioning, and kitchen equipment,” Mrs D’Ath said.<\/p>\n

“Recipients spanned specialist care providers and wildlife hospitals, to sporting clubs and men\u2019s sheds.<\/p>\n

“And this is what the Gambling Community Benefit Fund is all about – allowing a broad range of community organisations to upgrade their facilities and purchase equipment so they can improve the services they offer the community.<\/p>\n

“These not-for-profit groups are the lifeblood of our communities and it\u2019s vital that we support them as much as possible.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs D\u2019Ath encouraged eligible organisations to submit applications through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund online grants\u2019 portal.<\/p>\n

“This fund is open to organisations that have not-for-profit objectives and are community based,” she said.<\/p>\n

“And it\u2019s easy to apply – tutorial videos make the application process simple and uncomplicated.”<\/p>\n

Groups have until midnight May 31 to submit their application.<\/p>\n
