{"id":206980,"date":"2018-04-23T16:23:28","date_gmt":"2018-04-23T06:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=206980"},"modified":"2020-09-25T10:46:28","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T00:46:28","slug":"bag-snatched-at-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2018\/04\/23\/bag-snatched-at-cafe\/","title":{"rendered":"Bag Snatched At Cafe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>April 23, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kingaroy Police have been kept busy over the past week dealing with traffic offences, minor crashes and a handbag snatch that will leave one tourist with a very bad impression of the South Burnett.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>On Saturday afternoon, a woman put her handbag on the ground about 1:00pm while taking photos at a caf\u00e9 \/ tourist attraction business on the D&#8217;Aguilar Highway.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While she wasn\u2019t looking, an unknown person picked up the bag and took off.<\/p>\n<p>The brown shoulder bag has a motif of Tutankhamen on it and contained cash and personal property.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>A female driver has been issued with a traffic infringement notice after two vehicles collided on Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Mary and Edward streets in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The driver of a Holden SUV, a 74-year-old Kingaroy woman, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and her vehicle struck a Mitsubishi utility. No one was injured.<\/p>\n<p>The woman was issued an infringement notice for failing to stop at a stop sign ($378 and three points).<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will face charges of unsafe overtaking, unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle following police investigations into a traffic incident which occurred in Kingaroy on February 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>About 6:50pm that day, a LandCruiser stationwagon and a Kawasaki motorbike collided at the corner of Haly and Youngman streets.<\/p>\n<p>The rider of the bike will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>On Saturday, police pulled over a Toyota sedan on Haly Street, Kingaroy, for a random breath test about 8:55pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The driver, a 33-year-old Yarrabilba man, allegedly returned a positive result (0.204 BAC).<\/p>\n<p>He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 21 charged with drink driving and unlicensed driving.<\/p>\n<p>Later that evening, Kingaroy Police were called to a single-vehicle traffic crash in Haly Street.<\/p>\n<p>Police found a blue Toyota sedan had hit a power pole after crashing through railings about 10:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>It will be alleged the vehicle had earlier been intercepted and the driver arrested for drink driving.<\/p>\n<p>There was no one around when police arrived but two people were allegedly seen running from the scene earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>A 42-year-old Kingaroy woman, a 46-year-old Hodgeleigh man and a 33-year-old Nanango man will all face charges of unlicensed driving after separate roadside checks by police.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, \u00a0Kingaroy\u00a0Police were on patrol when they spotted a man asleep in his vehicle on William Street at 6:15am.<\/p>\n<p>It will be alleged that, as police approached the vehicle to check on the occupant, the 19-year-old Kingaroy man attempted to start the vehicle and drive off. <\/p>\n<p>A subsequent RBT allegedly returned a positive result.<\/p>\n<p>The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with driving with a BAC of 0.075.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>At 1.17am on Saturday, police intercepted a Holden sedan on William Street, Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While talking to occupants a passenger, a 29-year-old Kingaroy man, was allegedly found to be in possession of a knife without a lawful reason.<\/p>\n<p>The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 21 charged with possessing a knife in a public place.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During the week, Kingaroy Police also dealt with drug offences,\u00a0three calls related to domestic violence incidents, issued seven infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 123 roadside breath tests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[UPDATED]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kingaroy Police have been kept busy over the past week dealing with traffic offences, minor crashes and a handbag snatch that will leave one tourist with a very bad impression of the South Burnett.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":277292,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[1132],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
