Two South Burnett cattle properties fetched a total of $6.7 million when they were sold at auction in Brisbane on Friday.<\/p>\n

‘Galloway Downs’, at Tansey, sold for $4.3 million, while ‘Boonimba’, at Windera, sold for $2.4 million.<\/p>\n

Both properties were marketed by Ian Newson, from Ray White Rural at Mundubbera.<\/p>\n

The 4800-acre ‘Galloway Downs – on eight freehold titles – was described as top quality grazing land integrated with fodder cropping.<\/p>\n

It included 360 acres of blue gum creek flats used for irrigated and dryland cropping, three\u00a0irrigation bores, a licence to pump from Boonara Creek, dams, farming and irrigation equipment, yards, a machinery shed, hay shed, grain storage and silage pits.<\/p>\n

Also included was a six-bedroom country homestead overlooking undulating grazing country.<\/p>\n

The 6430-acre ‘Boonimba’ – on two titles – was described as a potential eco-tourism resort or private retreat, including a 6km frontage to Barambah Creek,\u00a0Barambah Gorge,\u00a0lava flows and a rich diversity of native flora and fauna.<\/p>\n

A herd of\u00a0Simbrah breeders was included in the sale, along with two cattle yards and seven dams.<\/p>\n

The agents emphasised there was an immediate cashflow possible from the harvest of mature trees on the property, and income for decades from younger trees under the Managed Hardwood Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
