The Tarong Power Stations have taken on an additional 16 permanent staff by moving jobs formerly performed by contractors in-house.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Tarong power stations have increased their workforce, welcoming 16 new mechanical trades and electrical employees to the team.<\/p>\n

This jobs boost is a direct result of a decision by Stanwell to bring these roles in-house.<\/p>\n

The roles were previously performed by Stanwell\u2019s contracting partner, UGL.<\/p>\n

Tarong power stations Site Manager Greg McIntyre said the new employees were either already on board or were about to start on site.<\/p>\n

They will be performing pivotal work in the maintenance and management of the sites\u2019 coal mills and cooling water systems.<\/p>\n

“The decision to bring work that was previously being performed by contractors in-house will deliver a streamlined one site approach, adding value to our business,” Mr McIntyre said.<\/p>\n

“It shows a commitment to providing jobs for our local community.”<\/p>\n

UGL has advised that due to the reduction in its scope of work, 10 permanent roles were identified as no longer being required.<\/p>\n

Impacted UGL workers were provided with the opportunity to apply for the new positions with Stanwell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
