South Burnett CTC’s annual Family Fun Day attracted more than 600 people to the Kingaroy Youth Park on Wednesday, almost double last year’s big day.<\/p>\n

Vehicles lined Somerset Street on both sides, while children (and adults) explored the stalls on offer, enjoyed free hamburgers, chips, fairy floss and lemonade; and skated, climbed, tug-o-warred and generally had a good time.<\/p>\n

“People were coming and going all day. We were handing out wristbands so I can say that at least 600 people have been here, and probably more,” Lee-Anne Reinbott, from\u00a0CTC’s Family and Child Connect service, said.<\/p>\n

The day was organised by CTC but more than 20 other agencies and services were also involved, including Centacare Community Connections, the Department of Child Safety and the Kingaroy Library.<\/p>\n

And although CTC workers played a big role on the day, the activities were not just aimed at CTC clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a free event for the whole community,\u201d Lee-Anne said.<\/p>\n

A popular attraction was the Reptile Relocation & Awareness group from the Gold Coast, where children learned about frogs, crocodiles and other reptiles.<\/p>\n

Members of social motorcycle club Saints & Sinners were also on hand to demonstrate that bikers are not bullies … and to spread their anti-bullying message on to youngsters.<\/p>\n

There was also cup-cake decorating, karaoke, video games, laser skirmish, face-painting … the holiday fun just went on and on.<\/p>\n
