Queensland Transport and Main Roads customer service centres have begun rolling out paperless applications to make it easier for customers to complete registration and licencing transactions.<\/p>\n

“Anyone with an existing smartcard, a Queensland drivers licence, a marine licence or an Adult Proof of Age card will be able to complete several transactions without filling out a paper form,” Transport Minister Mark Bailey said.<\/p>\n

“You will simply be asked to answer some questions, which help us identify you and access your correct information.”<\/p>\n

The removal of paper forms for certain transactions will be rolled out in stages this year.<\/p>\n

The state-wide roll-out follows the success of a trial in Toowoomba customer services centres last year.<\/p>\n

“There was overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers to the trial,” Mr Bailey said.<\/p>\n

Under the new process, customers will still be required to bring all the necessary supporting documents to conduct their business, including identity evidence and any other materials they made need to complete a service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To ensure the accuracy of information recorded through verbal interactions, customers will also be required to confirm the details of the transaction when they\u2019re done.<\/p>\n

The first phase rollout began on March 26.<\/p>\n

It includes drivers licence renewals, licence upgrades, replacement driving licences, practical driving tests, the re-issue of a licence after cancellation and changes of customer details (eg: change of name).<\/p>\n

A second phase rollout later this year will add the issue of learner’s permits, and issuing licences to interstate or overseas applicants to the list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
