A man is assisting police following a double break-in at Nanango on Friday.<\/p>\n

Office-in-charge of Nanango Police, Sergeant Brett Smith, said that at some time between 6:30am and 10:30am, thieves cut through a chain securing the front gate to a Cairns Street property.<\/p>\n

The offender or offenders went to a shed and stole a beige Toyota LandCruiser wagon.<\/p>\n

The owner of the vehicle later found it abandoned in a laneway not far away.<\/p>\n

However, the owner also reported that a large quantity of cash had been stolen from within the house. The cash was all in coins and would have been heavy to lift.<\/p>\n

Then, between 10:00pm on Friday and 5:55am on Saturday, the same house was broken into and a mobile phone was stolen while the occupants slept.<\/p>\n

Sgt Smith said this phone was then used to perform cardless transactions at an ATM in Nanango, resulting in a quantity of cash being stolen from the complainant\u2019s account.<\/p>\n

Nanango Police later located a man allegedly in possession of the stolen mobile phone.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

A woman was taken to Nanango Hospital with minor injuries after she was struck by a car in Drayton Street, Nanango, on Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pedestrian was struck by a Toyota sedan about 9:05am.<\/p>\n

Sgt Smith said the driver of the Toyota failed to negotiate the roundabout at the intersection of Fitzroy and Drayton streets, became airborne and hit two parked cars and the female pedestrian.<\/p>\n

The driver was also taken to Nanango Hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n

Both were later discharged.<\/p>\n

Sgt Smith said a medical condition contributed to the crash.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vandals have broken into a vacant house on Phipps Street West, Nanango, extensively damaging the interior.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The owner of the house discovered the damage on April 2.<\/p>\n

The house was last seen in good condition on March 21.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Between 8:30am and 3:00pm on Thursday, thieves stole prescription medicine from a Nanango caravan park resident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nanango Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen anyone in the vicinity of Arthur Street East acting suspiciously.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
