South Burnett beach volleyball star Taliqua Clancy will hit the sand at 3:00pm on Friday for her first match during the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n

The Aussie Olympian and her on-court partner Mariafe Artacho del Solar\u00a0will take on Cyprus pair Mariota Angelopoulou and Manolina Konstantinou in a preliminary Pool A game at Coolangatta beach.<\/p>\n

Channel 7 is expected to have live coverage of the match.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Artacho del Solar made short work of their Cypriot opponents, winning 2-0.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They followed this up with wins against Grenada on Saturday and Scotland on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The pair has now secured a berth in the quarter finals, which will be played on Tuesday (April 10).<\/p>\n
