Works by 16 South Burnett artists will be heading up the highway to Eidsvold next month to be featured at the RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Centre manager John Day – well-known in the South Burnett for his former role with the DPI&F – approached Nimu\u00e9\u00a0Gallery owner Cherry Carroll in Kingaroy recently to select the artworks to go on display.<\/p>\n

Cherry was tasked with finding pieces that have a “bush” feel that would suit an exhibition at the RM Williams Centre.<\/p>\n

She has selected 64, including paintings, pottery, tin work, woodcuts and charcoal sketches, to fill a 40m exhibition space.<\/p>\n

“John walked in to Nimu\u00e9 one day and introduced himself,” Cherry said.<\/p>\n

“He said he had connections with the South Burnett, and he thought the South Burnett and the North Burnett should have more connections.<\/p>\n

“It started from there.”<\/p>\n

Artists to be featured include Carmel Nott, Shannus O’Sullivan, Fay Stumm, Dot Rowland, Karol Oakley, Trish Erkens, Diana Bolton, Jo O’Brien-Welch, Thelma Archibald, Anthony Donas and Cathy McClelland.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett exhibition will be at the RM Williams Centre in February \/ March.<\/p>\n
