BIEDO – the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation – has been awarded a $468,000 Federal Government grant for their latest project, “Inclusive CommuniTIES \u2013 Stronger Together”.<\/p>\n

The project aims to provide resources and assistance to people who have been challenged by natural disasters.<\/p>\n

Member for Wide Bay Llew O\u2019Brien said the program had been funded under the Strong and Resilient Communities grants scheme.<\/p>\n

It will assist communities in the South Burnett and North Burnett council areas as well as the towns in the former Kilkivan Shire (now part of the Gympie Regional Council area)<\/p>\n

Mr O\u2019Brien congratulated BIEDO and said its work would continue to build resilience and strength and create a sense of belonging and engagement within the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe funding will be used to develop resources, deliver workshops and run project activities to help and educate those in need and enhance the well-being, social inclusion and economic welfare of participants,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBIEDO is a highly respected and highly valued local organisation that is known for helping business, community groups and individuals to access services.<\/p>\n
