Kingaroy Police have had another busy week, with assaults, drink drivers and drugs matters keeping officers busy.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-Charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, has launched a MyPolice blog to help keep local residents in touch with the many issues which happen during a regular week of policing … and demonstrate why officers sometimes may not be available immediately to answer minor requests for assistance.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Here are some of the highlights (or lowlights) for the week ending March 18:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 27-year-old Kingaroy man, pulled over by police in Fisher Street, Kingaroy, on March 12, will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 23 charged with drug driving and possessing a drug utensil.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 20-year-old Nanango man will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on April 5 charged with driving while disqualified after police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on the D’Aguilar Highway on March 12. The man’s vehicle was also immobilised for seven days.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At 8:00pm on March 13, police were called to a Memerambi address in relation to a male being allegedly assaulted by two girls, aged 11 and 14. Police will allege the two girls were involved in the theft of a white Subaru which was located in Cherbourg early on Wednesday morning. Investigations are continuing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

At 4:20am on March 13, police searched a 17-year-old Kingaroy boy acting suspiciously on King Street, Kingaroy. Police located an alleged small quantity of methamphetamine on the boy. The boy was charged with possessing a dangerous drug.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On March 15, police executed a search warrant at a Reen Street address. As a result of the search, police found a 51-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly in possession of a small quantity of dangerous drug as well as drug utensils. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 24.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Also on March 15, a complaint was received by Kingaroy Police that a wallet containing personal and bank cards had been stolen between 5:30pm and 7:00pm from a bag at a sports field in Oliver Bond Street. The bag had been behind a counter in the clubhouse. Investigations are continuing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Police stopped a Ford sedan on Alford Street at 7:40pm on March 15 for an RBT. Inquiries revealed that the driver, a 53-year-old Northgate man, was allegedly unlicensed due to a SPER suspension. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 26 charged with driving while unlicensed.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Saturday, police intercepted a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at 9:40pm after the rider allegedly failed to stop at a red light on Haly Street, Kingaroy. The rider, a 25-year-old Kingaroy man, was also allegedly unlicensed and allegedly returned a positive sample. Investigations are continuing. The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 23 charged with unlicensed driving and failing to stop at a red light.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Sunday, Kingaroy police received a complaint that between 9:00pm Saturday and 5:30am Sunday a silver iPad, a wallet containing personal cards and a quantity of cash was stolen from a Nissan stationwagon parked in Lister Court, Kingaroy. The vehicle was parked in a carport at the time and wasn’t locked. Investigations are continuing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Police were called to a Moore Street address at 8.40pm on Sunday where a Nissan utility at the address was on fire. Investigations by the QFES and Police revealed the possible source of the fire was a leaking can of lubricant spray that had been ignited by an electrical fault. The vehicle extensively damaged. The matter is being treated as non-suspicious.<\/p>\n
