A small but enthusiastic crowd packed the Kingaroy Art Gallery this evening for the official opening of the Gallery’s latest exhibition, “The Artists\u2019 Verandah”.<\/p>\n

The exhibition features the work of nine Nanango artists who work across a variety of media including acrylics, oils, graphite and coloured pencils, watercolours … even mosaics.<\/p>\n

The artists (Leasa Bailey, Megan Cridland, Dawn Gordon, Joy Hastings, Danielle Lawrence, Barbara Larsen, Wanda Lucas, Cherie Sibley and Jan Woods) meet regularly to paint and draw together. Several have also had their works displayed at regional galleries over the past few years.<\/p>\n

However, the current show is the first time they’ve exhibited as a group and for some, the first time their works have ever been seen in public.<\/p>\n

Many of the artists were in attendance at the opening and were happy to chat with guests about their work and interests.<\/p>\n

Some of the works in the exhibition had taken up to six months to prepare.<\/p>\n

“The Artists\u2019 Verandah” will remain on display at the Kingaroy Art Gallery until Sunday, February 3.<\/p>\n
