The Kingaroy Cricket and Sports Club are planning a big birthday party on Saturday, April 7 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Lyle Vidler Oval clubhouse.<\/p>\n

The clubhouse was built with volunteer labour after members secured a $40,000 Bicentennial grant to cover the cost of materials.<\/p>\n

The new venue was officially opened by international cricketer Carl Rackemann in April 1988.<\/p>\n

KCSC Treasurer Tim Heyer said he recalled festivities on the day included a cricket match and touch football games.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the building’s 30th anniversary, the club’s doors will open at 9:00am and a T20 cricket match between the South Burnett and Gympie will run in the morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cricket will be followed by AFL matches between the South Burnett Saints and Chinchilla, which will run through until late afternoon.<\/p>\n

In the evening, there’ll be a spit roast dinner in the clubhouse along with raffles, a licensed bar and music by popular entertainer Luke Medcalf.<\/p>\n

To form a perfect circle, Carl Rackemann will be the evening’s special guest.<\/p>\n

Both the AFL and T20 games are free, but tickets to the evening dinner are $25 per head for adults and $15 per head for children 12 or younger, and pre-bookings are preferred to help plan the catering.<\/p>\n
