February 26, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 35-year-old former Nanango man has been charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm after an alleged incident in Kingaroy on February 3.<\/p>\n

He will also face two charges of possessing dangerous drugs.<\/p>\n

The was arrested in Murgon on February 18 and remanded in custody to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 9.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Jewellery and electrical equipment including console games were stolen during a break-and-enter at a Haly Street, Kingaroy, home on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said the thief or thieves gained entry by forcing a rear window at some time between 9:30pm and 11:30pm.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Two Kingaroy teenagers have been charged with possessing knives in a public place after Kingaroy police stopped a Mazda sedan in Alford Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police allegedly located a large hunting knife and three other knives when they searched the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old driver and 19-year-old passenger will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 26.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A Kingaroy resident received an unpleasant surprise on Monday morning when police knocked on his door to tell him his Nissan X-Trail had been seen by police at 4:50am driving around the forestry between Wondai and Cherbourg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon police had tried to intercept the white SUV and contacted Kingaroy police to try to locate the owner.<\/p>\n

Police visited the registered address.<\/p>\n

The owner discovered his house had been broken into, probably between 11:30pm and midnight on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Also stolen was some personal property and a quantity of cash.<\/p>\n

The Nissan has not yet been recovered.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The rear window of a Nissan sedan parked in a carport in Edward Street, Kingaroy, was smashed at some time between 2:30pm and 6:30am on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A Malar Road, Booie, resident reported to police on Friday night that a vehicle had crashed into a fence near his house about 6:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No one was found with the vehicle.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Police are seeking witnesses to a collision which occurred at the intersection of Elk and Gipps streets, Nanango,\u00a0about 6:00am last Tuesday (February 20).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police believe one vehicle failed to give way to another and both vehicles collided,\u00a0injuring both drivers.<\/p>\n

They were transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital and released later that day.<\/p>\n

\u00a0A 17-year-old girl will appear in the Kingaroy Children’s Court on March 2 charged with drink-driving after police stopped her Hyundai in Haly Street, Kingaroy, at 12:40am on Sunday for a random breath test.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She allegedly blew 0.024 BAC.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0A 36-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Holden Commodore was stopped for an RBT at 11:20pm in Alford Street, Kingaroy, last Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He passed the breath test, but routine police checks revealed he was a suspect unlicensed driver.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 12.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A 25-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 12 charged with causing wilful damage at a house in Jarrah Street, Kingaroy, at some time between January 25 and February 12.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He will also face a charge of stealing a knife from the premises.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

An 18-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with stealing a pushbike from the Kingaroy Hotel on February 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 26.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On Sunday afternoon, a speed camera unit detected a motorist travelling at 103km\/h in a 60km\/h zone on Haly Street, Wondai.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The registered owner of the vehicle will shortly receive a $1177 fine, the loss of eight demerit points and a six-month driving suspension<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

About 5:00pm on February 18, police detected a vehicle on the D\u2019Aguilar Highway heading\u00a0 towards Nanango allegedly travelling at 106km\/h in a 60km\/h zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege the 46-year-old Nanango man also failed a roadside breath test and did not hold a current driver’s licence.<\/p>\n

He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on March 15, to face charges of speeding, drink-driving and unlicensed driving.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Last Wednesday,\u00a0 police stopped a vehicle in Drayton Street, Nanango.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Investigations revealed the driver allegedly did not hold a driver\u2019s licence and, in fact, has never held a driver\u2019s licence at all in Queensland. <\/p>\n

As a result, a 51-year-old Nanango man was issued with a notice to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on March 15.<\/p>\n

His number plates were also seized for a period of seven days and the vehicle was immobilised.<\/p>\n

A 40-year-old Nanango man allegedly blew 0.058 BAC after being pulled over by police on Saturday in Drayton Street, Nanango<\/strong><\/p>\n
