Wondai Kindergarten has been awarded $139,000 under the State Government’s $60 million grants program for early childhood services.<\/p>\n

The funding will assist with a large-scale renovation of the building and kindy grounds.<\/p>\n

Education, Training and Employment Minister John-Paul Langbroek said thousands of kindergartens and long day care services across the State had been identified as successful grant recipients, and more grants would be made available soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese grants will go a long way towards improving facilities, resources and equipment so that more Queensland children can enjoy a quality early childhood education,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNearly $40 million worth of grants have already been delivered, which means that many services will be able to provide children with an even better start to their education this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome kindergartens and long day care services have received up to $200,000 each for renovations, refurbishments and essential upgrades.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Langbroek said applications would open soon for a further three early childhood grant programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the coming weeks, applications will open for Essential Maintenance and Refurbishment grants for services on government-owned land and the second round of Enhancement Grants for Long Day Care Centres,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNon-government organisations will also be able to apply for grants to deliver pre-kindergarten programs to support children\u2019s transition into kindy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pre-kindergarten grants will focus on programs that engage Indigenous children and those from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

The grants are supported through the National Partnership for Early Childhood Education with the Federal Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
