The Yarraman Business Group’s monthly community magazine The Yarraman Junction was released this month<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A Chamber of Commerce has been formed in Yarraman.<\/p>\n

The Yarraman Business Group says its aim is to empower business owners and provide better access to information about assistance that is available for small business.<\/p>\n

It also wants to raise the profile of the town through media, networking and the Internet.<\/p>\n

The group is led by president Jason Smith and secretary\/treasurer Tania Paul, and meets every third Tuesday in the club room of the Yarraman Caravan Park at 6:15pm.<\/p>\n

Tania told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> the new group hopes to work in tandem with the long-establshed Yarraman Progress Association, whose Moving Yarraman Forward community plan has led Toowoomba Regional Council to spend more than $700,000 on civic improvements in the past year.<\/p>\n

“The Progress Association has similar aims but its constitution doesn’t accommodate the sorts of things a chamber of commerce would like to do,” she said.<\/p>\n

“So we see ourselves as an addition to town, and look forward to working closely with the Progress Association and help them advance their own projects.”<\/p>\n

The Business Group plan to apply for grants to help Yarraman businesses upgrade their digital systems and gain access to better training.<\/p>\n

They have also launched a new monthly community magazine – The Yarraman Junction – and hope to distribute 1500 copies per month in Blackbutt, Yarraman and Nanango.<\/p>\n
