Veteran jockey Gary Geran, winner of the 2017 Kumbia Cup and a familiar face around South Burnett racetracks, was injured in a race fall in Toowoomba on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Geran was riding De Bandit Vega in Race 6 at Clifford Park – the Art & Soul Maiden Handicap – when the four-year-old gelding fell near the 350m mark.<\/p>\n

Geran was taken from the track by ambulance to Toowoomba Hospital with chest and shoulder injuries, and possible spinal injuries.<\/p>\n

De Bandit Vega appeared to escape unscathed.<\/p>\n
