Firefighters were called out just after 3:00pm on Wednesday to a large grass fire burning at Hodgeleigh.<\/p>\n

The fire, which appears to have started on a property on Hodgeleigh Road North, burned out a large paddock and also spread into nearby inaccessible terrain.<\/p>\n

A fire brigade spokesman said the fire stretched along a 100m front with about 4ha burned.<\/p>\n

Initially, there were fears buildings could be under threat, however firefighters quickly ensured no structures were at risk.<\/p>\n

The spokesman said the fire was contained by 4:30pm but firefighters remained on the scene mopping up.<\/p>\n

Firefighters from the Kingaroy urban and Malar-Booie, Hodgeleigh North and Stuart River rural brigades attended the fire.<\/p>\n
