The South Burnett Regional Council and BIEDO will be hosting two community barbecues next month for victims of the Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve storms<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

January 28, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council will be hosting two free Storm Recovery Community Barbecues in February for people impacted by the Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve storms.<\/p>\n

The barbecues will provide an opportunity to connect with others and hear about what resources, information and support is available to assist South Burnett residents with their storm recovery efforts.<\/p>\n

The events will also provide an opportunity to thank BlazeAid volunteers who have been working in the region.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council did not suffer enough damage to public infrastructure from the storms to trip the threshold for disaster assistance.<\/p>\n

However, many landowners in the worst-affected parts of the region suffered significant damage to buildings, fencing and crops.<\/p>\n

The barbecues will be held at Kumbia Memorial Hall on Sunday, February 25 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, and at Mondure Hall on Sunday, March 4 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both events are being organised on Council’s behalf by BIEDO (the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
