The South Burnett Arthritis & Osteoporosis Support Group is promoting new Tai Chi For Health classes which will be starting next week in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Tai Chi originated in ancient China but is now practiced throughout the world as an exercise for better health.<\/p>\n

The Tai Chi for Health classes will aim to relieve pain and improve quality of life, relieve stress, sharpen concentration, and improve balance, posture and mobility.<\/p>\n

The classes will begin on February 1 and then run on Thursdays at the Uniting Church Hall in Alford Street.<\/p>\n

Support group spokeswoman June Kimlin said the Intermediate Group would run from 9:00am to 10:00am, followed by a Beginners’ Group from 10:15am to 11:15am.<\/p>\n

Enrolments for the Beginners’ Group will be received on February 1 and 8 only (please allow 30 minutes before the commencement of the class to enrol).<\/p>\n

An Advanced Group will be held on Fridays, beginning February 2, from 9:00am to 10:00am at SBcare (Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre).<\/p>\n

“Everyone is welcome to come along and join our groups,” June said, “but please bring a bottle of water with you.”<\/p>\n

The Tai Chi groups will be held every week except public or school holidays.<\/p>\n

Cost is $3 for each attendance plus a $20 fee to Arthritis Queensland for insurance.<\/p>\n
