The State Government has set up an office to help Queensland farmers access free financial analysis and advice.<\/p>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the Farm Debt Restructure Office would provide eligible primary producers with a no-fee, no-obligation assessment of their business and financial position.<\/p>\n

This would help them make informed decisions about the future of their farms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Office will be overseen by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) and it will work with the Authority\u2019s network of nine offices,” she said.<\/p>\n

QRIDA was formerly known as the Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority (QRAA).<\/p>\n

Agricultural Industry Development Minister Mark Furner said the assistance would not replace a producer\u2019s existing financial advisers, but would complement them by offering a second opinion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Farm Business Analysis Assistance offers eligible farmers with detailed, expert options from an approved rural finance professionals at a level that the producer may not be able to afford at their time of distress,\u201d Mr Furner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe report, which follows an on-farm visit, will give realistic options and ideas on how to repair, reduce or rationalise farming activities within the available resources, for the best possible outcome for the farmer and their family.\u201d<\/p>\n
