A young woman has been airlifted to hospital after a water ski accident at Boondooma Dam.<\/p>\n

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the woman was tubing on the lake when the accident occurred.<\/p>\n

She was pulled unconscious from the water and treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics before she was met by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.<\/p>\n

Co-pilot Alex Dorr said the helicopter was able to be there in under 20 minutes as they were diverted from a hospital transfer at Nanango.<\/p>\n

“We had been tasked to Nanango Hospital for a patient transfer but just before engine shutdown, we were re-tasked to Boondooma Dam as we were the closest helicopter in the region,” he said.<\/p>\n
