Proston traders opened their doors on Saturday night to welcome in late-night shoppers heading towards the new-look and relocated Christmas Carnival.<\/p>\n

Families walking down Blake Street towards the carnival in Railway Park could stop into NB Inspirations, Proston Health and Beauty or Jacaranda Tea Rooms for a last-minute Chrissy present or a quick snack.<\/p>\n

Down in the park, there was live music, children’s rides and games, stalls, a ham wheel as well as a licensed bar.<\/p>\n

Santa Claus – who had been unable to make it to Hivesville on Friday night – made up for it in Proston, with a guest appearance near the old railway station building and plenty of lollies to go round.<\/p>\n

Proston Lions, CWA, SES and Show Society volunteers were kept busy on various stalls and making certain everything was running smoothly.<\/p>\n

The festival was sponsored by Proston Lions, Proston Men’s Shed, Smithfield Feedlot and the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n
