Council road crews will be keeping busy over the Christmas school holiday period.<\/p>\n

At Wednesday’s monthly meeting, Roads portfolio chair Cr Gavin Jones said that during December construction crews will be working on sealing a section of Corndale Road at Memerambi.<\/p>\n

They will be grading and resheeting J Hunters Road at Ballogie; continuing the widening of Kumbia Road near Kumbia; and widening Bell Street, Kumbia, near the new children’s crossing.<\/p>\n

They will also be carrying out grader maintenance of Ulampa Road, Googa Creek Road and Pamela Drive in the Taromeo-Benarkin area; and continuing to work on improvements to Cairns Street, Nanango.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, maintenance crews will grade Manumbar Road at Glan Devon; McNamara Road at Nanango; and Swenson Road at Hodgleigh.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Recreation Dive at Wooroolin, Mt Hope Road at Booie, and Boondooma Dam will also see attention from graders.<\/p>\n

Cr Jones said Works For Queensland drainage works will get carried out on Markwell and Mant Streets in Kingaroy, and Parker Road at Ellesmere.<\/p>\n

And in capital works, Runnymede Road will see culvert extensions; Rodney Street in Proston will get a footpath and a disability parking bay; and a pram ramp will be built in Lamb Street, Murgon.<\/p>\n

Cr Jones said Council staff will also be undertaking contract work for the Department of Transport and Main Roads on the D’Aguilar Highway, attending to silting and drainage issues adjacent to the Coolabunia overtaking lane.<\/p>\n

They will also be carrying out pavement repairs in the Coolabunia area including Somerfield Lane, stabilising a reseal prep on Byee Road at Byee; and giving the Maidenwell Bunya Mountains Road a formation grade.<\/p>\n

Cr Jones said this year’s planned reseals through the region are almost completed, and all available slashers are attending to summer grass growth along Council roads.<\/p>\n
