A year’s worth of raffles and sausage sizzles by the Burnett Ulysses Club has led to some nice Christmas presents for three local not-for-profit organisations.<\/p>\n

Club president Russell Barbour presented $500 cheques on Saturday to the Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee (LAC), the Kingaroy Hospital Auxiliary, and SBcare.<\/p>\n

Russell said the club had held barbecues outside the Kingaroy Mitre 10 over the past 12 months and also run “100 Club” raffles for members.<\/p>\n

Hospital Auxiliary treasurer Peter Mortimer said their cheque would go towards fundraising for a $46,000 ultrasound machine for the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Auxiliary has already raised about $29,000 towards their target.<\/p>\n

The Burnett Ulysses Club meets on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00am in the Stanwell Room at SBcare in Kingaroy and organises regular social club runs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
