Early election counting indicates LNP candidate Deb Frecklington will be easily returned as the Member for Nanango, although her margin will have been trimmed.<\/p>\n

At 7:00pm on Saturday night, Mrs Frecklington – who is also the Deputy Opposition Leader – had secured 47.13 per cent of the primary vote and 69.39 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.<\/p>\n

Her closest challenger was One Nation candidate Douglas Grant who had 26.63 per cent of the primary vote and 30.61 per on a two-party basis.<\/p>\n

In Callide – where sitting member Jeff Seeney did not re-stand – LNP candidate Colin Boyce had secured 35.45 per cent of the primary vote, ahead of One Nation candidate Sharon Lohse on 26.54 per cent.<\/p>\n

On a two-party preferred basis, Mr Boyce had secured 58.76 per cent of the votes, ahead of Ms Lohse on 26.54 per cent.<\/p>\n

However, it looks most likely that the ALP will hold on to government.<\/p>\n

One Nation parliamentary leader Steve Dickson looks likely to lose his seat of Buderim, and former One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts has conceded that he has failed in his bid to win Ipswich.<\/p>\n
