The Murgon Men’s Shed was a finalist in the Queensland Community Achievement Awards announced on Saturday night in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was held during a gala presentation dinner held at the Royal On The Park hotel.<\/p>\n

Entertainment on the night was provided by country singer Bridget O’Shannessy, a familiar face in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Awards were presented in eight categories.<\/p>\n

The Murgon Men’s Shed was nominated in the\u00a0 “Community Group of the Year”.<\/p>\n

The winner was the Umbrella Group of Rockhampton, a not-for-profit organisation which provides support to parents of special needs children.<\/p>\n

Murgon Men’s Shed president Jim Rook was called up on stage to be presented with a Finalist certificate by State Development Minister Dr Anthony Lynham.<\/p>\n

Bugs For Bugs at Mundubbera, which has been supplying natural pest solutions to farmers for 35 years, won the Agricultural Innovation award.<\/p>\n
