Eight fire crews were called to a grass fire in the Ironpot area which erupted in the early hours of this morning.<\/p>\n

The fire, on Ironpot Road, broke out at 4:40am.<\/p>\n

At 12:45pm today, crews were leaving the scene with the fire now under control.<\/p>\n

At Ballogie, four fire crews are on the site of a fire on Melrose Road \/ Wondai-Chinchilla Road, just east of the Fortrus Quarry.<\/p>\n

This fire was reported at 7:30am. <\/p>\n

An Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters were conducting backburns in an effort to control the fire but there was no threat to property.<\/p>\n

Because of the dangerous fire conditions, rural fire fighters in the region were this morning put on Wildfire Alert Level 3 status in preparation for grass and bush fires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
