A juvenile has been charged with wilful damage and unlawful use of a motor vehicle after a truck caught on fire at Memerambi on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Police will allege two children, aged under 14, attempted to drive away in a Fuso water\u00a0 truck.<\/p>\n

However, while they were trying to move it, they struck a fence post and became stuck.<\/p>\n

A fire then began in the rear of the vehicle, causing substantial damage to the rear of the truck.<\/p>\n

Two urban fire units were called to scene about 6:50pm.<\/p>\n

The truck was burning in front of commercial sheds between Webbs Road and Recreation Drive.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesman said the fire was was contained by 7:05pm and fully extinguished by 7:30pm.<\/p>\n

Firefighters ensured the blaze was contained to the vehicle and that it did not spread to nearby buildings or grassland.<\/p>\n
