Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has announced more roadworks which could benefit the South Burnett if the LNP wins government at the State Election.<\/p>\n

An LNP Government would spend $4.5 million to widen and seal single-lane sections of the Kilkivan-Tansey Road. a major connecting link between the Burnett Highway and the Wide Bay Highway.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must improve safety on this road, and upgrade it to become a realistic option for transport companies and primary producers who need to move stock and products. In its current state, it\u2019s just too dangerous,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

The roadworks would be funded from the LNP’s proposed $60 million Beef Roads Program which would undertake major upgrades to 10 regional roads across Queensland.<\/p>\n

Other Beef Roads projects in the local area would include $1.5 million towards upgrading Oakey-Cooyar Road, $1.5 million for Bowenville-Moola Road, and $15 million for Mundubbera-Durong Road.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington also announced an LNP Government would make an initial investment of $1.1 million to improve sections of the Brisbane Valley Highway within the Nanango electorate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNanango residents have suffered from a lack of new infrastructure projects for too long under Annastacia Palaszczuk. Especially those who need to travel regularly on the Brisbane Valley Highway,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said that under the former LNP Government she had secured funding for a new overtaking lane north of Toogoolawah as well as a 2km upgrade of a stretch of the highway south of Fernvale.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all know the Brisbane Valley Highway is important network road connecting regional areas to Brisbane, but it is in desperate need of a funding injection,” she said.<\/p>\n

Upgrading the Brisbane Valley Highway would come from the LNP’s reinstated Royalties for Regions program.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said $5 million from the LNP’s proposed Better Bridges program would be spent on replacing a wooden bridge over Running Creek on the Broweena-Woolooga Road, north of Woolooga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project would improve safety as well as increase the capacity of the road.<\/p>\n

Other local projects from the Better Bridges program would include $35 million towards the Boyne River Bridge replacement, and $5 million towards upgrading Cooyar Bridge on the New England Highway at Cooyar.<\/p>\n
