Revheads of all ages had fun in the sun at Nanango on Saturday at Nanango Police’s second “Take It To The Track” day.<\/p>\n

The family fun day at South Burnett Kart Hire’s track allowed all-comers to race against police officers and other emergency services personnel.<\/p>\n

Even very small children could join in, riding in double go-karts with an adult.<\/p>\n

The sizzling day of action was organised by officers from Nanango police station as a road safety initiative.<\/p>\n

As well as the fun activities, there were also more serious displays including a demonstration of an emergency extraction by firefighters and ambulance paramedics of an “injured” driver from a car wreck.<\/p>\n

A high-tech driving simulator was also popular, with youngsters practising their road skills (there were lots of prangs!)<\/p>\n

SES volunteers from Nanango and Kingaroy helped out on the day and kept the sausage sizzle running.<\/p>\n

According to the Go Kart operators “literally hundreds and hundreds” of people had taken part in the racing.<\/p>\n

The day was sponsored by the Heritage Nanango Community Branch in conjunction with South Burnett Kart Hire and Nanango Police.<\/p>\n
