The ALP has promised to hire 180 more nurses in the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Services region – the region which includes all South Burnett hospitals – if they are re-elected at the upcoming State election.<\/p>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk made the commitment on Monday, part of a $167 million, four-year package promised for the State\u2019s 16 hospital and health services.<\/p>\n

Labor candidate for Nanango Ben Rankin said the commitment would be an important boost for health services.<\/p>\n

“The commitment of additional nurses is in keeping with the government’s investment of more than $60 million in the redevelopment of the Kingaroy Hospital,” he said.<\/p>\n

Premier Palaszczuk also promised to employ three new midwives in the DDHHS region and improve nurse-to-patient ratios.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
