South Burnett cattle producer Melissa Barnett has been elected president of the Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network (QRRRWN).<\/p>\n

Melissa is a partner in a cattle-producing enterprise at Haly Creek, and also manages a farmstay and a vineyard on the property.<\/p>\n

She began her career as a nurse before gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Post-Graduate degree in Library and Information Management and a Graduate Diploma in Writing, Editing and Publishing.<\/p>\n

She has been the senior journalist for online business-to-business website, Forkliftaction, since 2009 and also writes freelance.<\/p>\n

After living in Brisbane for 29 years, Melissa returned to the family property with her husband and son in 2011.<\/p>\n

She is the immediate past-president of the Barambah branch of QRRRWN and is\u00a0 passionate about the paddock to plate movement.<\/p>\n

Nanango State High School students Anekah Hinchliff and Rebecca Clapperton found success at the recent QRRRWN Conference at Emerald. <\/strong><\/p>\n
