The winners of a competition to photograph sites in the South Burnett’s Local Heritage Register have been announced.<\/p>\n

The competition was run in conjunction with this year’s South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show festival.<\/p>\n

During the October long weekend, photographers were encouraged to visit sites listed in the Register and photograph them.<\/p>\n

The competition was organised by the Nanango Tourism and Development Association and entries were judged by Annette Schumacher from the Blackbutt Camera Club and Clive Lowe and David Bayley from the Nanango and District Camera Club.<\/p>\n

“We would like to thank everyone entered the Snapshot In Time competition,” organiser Mary Green said.<\/p>\n

“It certainly highlighted some of the architectural gems in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“The winning entries are all listed on the South Burnett Local Heritage Register.<\/p>\n

“Other photographs of King\u2019s Boarding House at Maidenwell, Ringsfield House at Nanango, the Kingaroy peanut silos, Miller\u2019s Corner in Kingaroy, the Nanango Cemetery, the Blackbutt War Memorial, the Murgon Civic Centre, Murgon State School and the Seven Mile Diggings were also on the Register.”<\/p>\n

In all, about 16 per cent of the 69 sites in the Local Heritage Register were photographed.<\/p>\n
