Local Government Minister Mark Furner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Gympie Regional Council will receive $1.075 million from the State Government to put towards its new $2.4 million Kilkivan Equestrian Centre.<\/p>\n

The funding has come through the State Government’s $60 million Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program.<\/p>\n

Local Government Minister Mark Furner said the Kilkivan project would create an estimated 19 full-time equivalent jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe delivery of this project will generate employment and boost economic activity for local communities, which is a major priority for the Palaszczuk Government,\u201d Mr Furner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvesting in infrastructure is a very practical way to generate confidence in a community making it a better place to live, work and operate a business.”<\/p>\n

Mr Furner said Council would have two financial years to deliver the project.<\/p>\n

The grant was welcomed by Gympie Mayor Mick Curran.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a collaboration between the two tiers of government at its best, working for the good of the whole region,\u201d Cr Curran said.<\/p>\n

Cherbourg and the South Burnett will also benefit from the same grant program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Wednesday Mr Furner announced that Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council will receive $163,050 to assist with clearing fire management lines.<\/p>\n

He also announced the South Burnett Regional Council will receive $180,000 to undertake a condition assessment of council assets. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
