Heavy falls were also recorded in areas north and west of Murgon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>southburnett.com.au readers reported the following falls on Friday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blackbutt &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Booie &#8211; 15mm (Crawford Road), 39mm, 25mm (Burtons Road)<\/li>\n<li>Brigooda &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Charlestown &#8211; 19mm<\/li>\n<li>Coolabunia &#8211; 75mm, 80mm<\/li>\n<li>Crawford &#8211; 50mm, 65mm<\/li>\n<li>Cushnie &#8211; 27mm<\/li>\n<li>Durong &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>East Nanango &#8211; 37mm, 40mm<\/li>\n<li>Ellesmere &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Goomeri &#8211; 43mm, 54mm,<\/li>\n<li>Greenview &#8211; 36mm<\/li>\n<li>Haly Creek &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Ironpot &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Kingaroy &#8211; 35.5mm, 50mm, 19mm, 37mm, 31mm (Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road), 36mm (Harris Road), \u00a07mm (Couchmans Road)<\/li>\n<li>Kingaroy Heights &#8211; 34mm<\/li>\n<li>Kingaroy West &#8211; 35mm<\/li>\n<li>Mannuem &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>Murgon &#8211; 22mm<\/li>\n<li>Nanango &#8211; 50mm, 40mm (with hail)<\/li>\n<li>Proston &#8211; nil<\/li>\n<li>South Nanango &#8211; 15mm, 22mm, 60mm<\/li>\n<li>Tablelands &#8211; 23mm<\/li>\n<li>Taylors Road &#8211; 18mm<\/li>\n<li>Wattle Camp &#8211; 28mm<\/li>\n<li>Windera &#8211; 60mm<\/li>\n<li>Wondai &#8211; 35mm<\/li>\n<li>Yarraman &#8211; 2mm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Multiple lightning strikes shook residents, with several reports of bolts hitting buildings at PCA in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_192832\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-192832\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171014grader.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-192832\" title=\"20171014 Track grader\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171014grader.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171014grader.jpg 620w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/20171014grader-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-192832\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The track grader was in action ahead of Saturday night&#8217;s speedway action in Kingaroy, preparing a smooth surface for the racers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Despite the rain, most weekend events went ahead as normal in the South Burnett.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, the Kingaroy Speedway&#8217;s inaugural event for the 2017-18 racing season went off without a hitch, despite the muddy conditions on the Showground track.<\/p>\n<p>The friendly rugby league games between Queensland Samoa and Cherbourg also went ahead at Cherbourg.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Wondai v Warriors and Murgon Diggers v Nanango cricket matches were washed out, along with junior games.<\/p>\n<p>The Goodchild Shield Carnival at Bundaberg was rain-affected but went ahead.<\/p>\n<p>The week-long Colours of Yarraman Festival, organised by the Yarraman and District Progress Association, has had weather issues all week.<\/p>\n<p>The launch event, Jazz on the Platform, went ahead last Saturday (October 7) despite rain, and this Saturday, the Garden Awards night at Heritage House went off smoothly.<\/p>\n<p>The Cooyar Trail Bike Ride attracted a large group of competitors to Cooyar Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday, with only a few changes made to the tracks because of the rain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Sunday, the Women In Workshirts walk, organised by BIEDO to mark International Day of Rural Women, went ahead at Wooroolin. It takes a lot to stop rural women!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And the Nanango District Camera Club&#8217;s annual portrait workshop went ahead at Ringsfield House.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Junior Motorcycle Speedway club day scheduled for Sunday at Kingaroy Showground was cancelled due to unsafe riding conditions.<\/p>\n<p>And the Nanango Hack and Pony Club gymkhana was also postponed because of the conditions; the event will be rescheduled at a date to be fixed.<\/p>\n<p>The Coolabunia livestock sale scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed, most likely to Tuesday, October 24.
