A former Kingaroy resident has been jailed after pleading guilty to multiple charges allegedly linked to his involvement with a Gold Coast chapter of the Rebels motorcycle club.<\/p>\n

The man, 26, pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday to charges including assault, arson, robbery and drug trafficking (Ecstasy).<\/p>\n

The former Kingaroy school student told the court he became involved in crime after gaining work in the security industry.<\/p>\n

After moving to the Gold Coast, he met members of the Rebels through his association with a gym.<\/p>\n

The various offences occurred while the man was a “nom” (prospective member) of the club, and most involved internal club disputes.<\/p>\n

Justice Martin Burns sentenced the man to four and a half years jail.<\/p>\n
